The construction of Mongolia’s first indoor ice rink being built by Steppe Arena in the New Yarmag section of the capital city’s Khan-Uul district is over 90 percent complete, and the ice laying effort began yesterday. Andrejs Veilands-Ginko, and Jerry Julius Mansikkavita, specialists from an Austrian company AST, have started laying ice together with our engineers, and the rink will have 4-5 layers of ice. The specialists Andrejs Veilands-Ginko, and Jerry Julius Mansikkavita worked as the technical engineers at the recent Ice Hockey World Championships in Riga, Latvia.
Even though the ice rink was not commissioned due to the COVID 19 pandemic, and travel restrictions that delayed the arrival of the foreign experts, the team is working to open the ice rink soon.
