Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. With its groundbreaking ceremony held in April 2019, the construction of Steppe Arena was completed in September 2021 – a considerably short amount of time – despite the restrictions relating to the COVID-19 pandemic situation. The Steppe Arena is a historic development that has fulfilled the century-long dream of Mongolians, especially those of winter sports athletes.
Since its opening, the Steppe Arena has won many local awards such as the ‘Best Development of Mongolia 2021’, ‘Highlights of Mongolia 2021’, ‘Best Sports Development of 2021 – Burte Chono trophy of the Mongolian National Olympic Committee’, and ‘Best Development for Persons with Disabilities of Mongolia 2021’.
Furthermore, it was awarded Best Public Service Development – Mongolia 2021 by the International Property Awards, and on February 25, 2022, it was also awarded the Best Public Service Development – Asia Pacific 2021 by the Asia Pacific Property Awards.
The award was received by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Battumur Enkhsukh on behalf of Mongolia. On accepting the award, Ambassador Enkhsukh noted that he is both glad and proud that the Steppe Arena, the cultural and sports venue built by the Mongolian company ‘Steppe Arena LLC’, has won the ‘Best Public Service Development in Asia 2021’ award from The International Property Awards of the United Kingdom.
CEO of Steppe Arena LLC Bulganbayar Baatar, receiving the above award in Ulaanbaatar emphasized that the company is working to introduce a smart service and quality management system in 2022, and aims to be an exemplary provider of arts, sports, and community service for the convenience of its customers.
The venue has also been nominated for International Best Public Service Development.
